Thursday 17th September: Crumpsall Folk Club feat. Dariush Kanani
Dariush Kanani is a London-based fingerstyle guitarist and singer, one of the best of his generation. He fell in love with the old British folk guitar records of the sixties as a teenager, then went out and found the people who actually made them, learning directly from the greats and carrying the tradition forward in his own hands.
His debut album, 'Mr Troubadour' (2015), was a collection of entirely original songs written on the road and recorded in studios and pubs across Yorkshire, and it was dedicated to the memory of his friend and mentor John Renbourn.

He continues to tour the UK and Ireland, both on his own and as a duo partner and special guest on other artists' tours. Along the way he's played tribute concerts at Cecil Sharp House and appeared at major folk stages.
Dariush is also a sought-after guitar teacher and he leads workshops that pass the craft on to the next generation of players.
We will have floor spots from 7.45 before the main act, so get down early if you want to play.
