Thursday 21st May: Crumpsall Folk Club feat. Andy Yates
We're very pleased to welcome Andy Yates as headliner for Crumpsall Folk Club on 21st May. He is a regular at Manchester Folk Clubs (and, he tells us, in his shed when he isn't fixing freezers in corner shops). Described as a “maverick maestro” and likened to Franks Zappa and Sidebottom, he has done a couple of very impressive floor spots for us in the past. We decided we needed to hear more.
His songs are genuinely funny and original, but don't just take our word for it - in his own words they are "amazing, the best songs you'll ever hear"! He promises us a stunning, amazing, brilliant night and we believe him.
We will have floor spots from 7.45 before the main act, so get down early if you want to play.
As always, we'll have a half time raffle.
